Here’s Rod Serling, writer and creator of The Twilight Zone, in a rare turn as an actor in the 1970s NBC TV series Ironside. Here he plays Thyros, an occult bookshop owner, in the 1972 episode “Bubble, Bubble, Toil, and Murder.” As Serling was the host of the NBC TV series Night Gallery at the time, it was a good bit of stunt casting.
This rare publicity photo turned up in an auction on eBay which I, unfortunately, didn’t win.
